1.  I love looking out into our backyard on windy days.  I love windy days in general, but windy days that are breezy enough to make all the trees dance and the bamboo bow over until it nearly touches the ground is just a glorious day in my book.  Today is such a day.

2.  Today’s also a writing day.  Nothing on my schedule except taking the dog out for a couple of walks, and getting some writing done.  Want more days like this.

3.  Pansies.  They weren’t plants that did particularly well where I’m from (Arizona) so no one I knew every grew them in the springtime.  Here, they’re in flower-heaven between the rain & the humidity, and they grow like mad even when I forget to deal with them for days on end.  Plus they’re lovely little flowers.

4.  As far as I can tell, the cheapest place in the city to buy organic milk is right around the corner.  This comes in handy when I’ve just poured my coffee – like right after I finished typing #3 – and discover that there isn’t enough milk to bring it to that shade of au lait that my sensitive stomach lining prefers.  Yay for being able to go buy milk before your coffee gets cold!

5.  My mom.  I’m so damned lucky to have her in my life, and I wish we lived closer so she could be even more in my life.  She’s been nothing but supportive of this whole process, and I couldn’t ask for a more comforting shoulder to cry on when I need one.  Happy mother’s day, mommy.  I miss you.  Wish you were here.
