Days of Grace 7-19-09

1.  Sleeping for 8 hours Friday night, then dozing in the car for the 2 hours up to Connecticut, then sleeping in the sun all day long once up there, then sleeping for almost 12 hours last night, then napping before lunch.  I love sleep.  Zzzzzzz.

2.  Nellie had so much fun, and I had so much fun watching her romp with Sadie the Lab.  Now she’s home and resentful and asking me to buy her off with chicken treats.  I think she’d stay in Connecticut all alone if we didn’t physically force her to come home with us.

3.  My in-laws both – apparently – know about the pregnancy, but they were both tactful enough to not refer to it, and to keep my non-wine-drinking status pretty quiet.

4.  Homemade ice cream from this little dairy in Oxford.  Best. Ice cream. Ever.  Sweet cream.  Cows lowing in the background.  Unbelievably delicious.

5.  The black & white striped turkey feather I found that’s a foot and a half long and perfect.  Feathers are cool, and big feathers?  They’re like dinosaur souvenirs.  So cool.

  • #1-Golly with all that sleep you would expect that there is an oven somewhere baking a cute little poppy seed bun.
#4-You say this and then don’t give us the details on your chosen flavor? Inquiring minds over here. :-)
    #5-Coooooooooool!!!!

That’d be “sweet cream” flavor! Like vanilla, only without the vanilla. You really taste the milk. And the sugar, of course…

    Delish!!!

  • I am so glad you had a great time!! We have a great ice cream place north of where I live that makes it – and the whipped cream. The building has cow spots, I love going there and I will have to when I go home.
