Days of Grace 7-27-09
1. Yesterday I made pancakes for one. Quick, fun, yummy – even though they didn’t sit all that well in my annoyed-at-having-to-eat belly, they were worth it.
2. I took my mom’s advice to heart and decided to just enjoy every minute of this pregnancy. Worrying isn’t going to change one goddamned thing, so I might as well try the stress-free approach. To that end, I bought a bella band, since I can easily foresee a time in the not-so-distant future that my pants are not going to fit particularly well and I’d rather not be scrambling at the last minute to find a way to eke another few weeks out of my work trousers. I also bought a pregnancy meditation CD by the same woman who did the IF CD I liked so much, and a couple of baby shirts – (including a gender specific one, simply because it was so adorable I couldn’t resist it. Since I know so many pregnant ladies right now, I figured it won’t go to waste even if Sprog is a little guy who won’t wear flowers, no matter how brightly colored they are.)
3. Avocado sandwich. I’m missing the sprouts, but oh my I’d forgotten how much I like avocado sandwiches!
4. The dog kept me sane and (mostly) happy this weekend. I adore this dog. I worry about how she’s going to take being second banana in a household that basically revolves around her. But then I realize – she’ll have another person to love on, and I know everything will be ok.
5. For the first time in my life I don’t have to wash my hair every day. I have (had) seriously oily hair. Something about pregnancy has evened everything out, so instead of coping with worse-than-usual hair & skin, I get to have better than… Damn, I like this!

I bought two bella bands last week – actually the be band (made by the makers of the bella band) from Target because I was too lazy to drive the extra 30 minutes for the real thing. The extra IVF weight made it tough to fit into my clothes as it was – and the bloat now – forget it – I promised myself that if I got pregnant, I would bask in it (trying, mostly basking in terror) and that I would be comfortable. So – I am going to buy a few bras after my u/s if it goes well – the girls were already large and are now bordering on porn star large.
yay – I am so happy you are blogging about this stuff – so happy that you have your little sprog to blog about!
May I ask what the IF CD was? I’m trying to be “zen,” as per my RE’s instructions.
You know, I have a much-doted on whippet too, and I worried that a baby would be hard on her. Not to worry–she immediately became very protective. The perfect big sister for the pack.
