Days of Grace 11-7-09
1. Dogpark. Dogpark where Nellie can meet – and disdain to play with – other whippets, IGs, and other fast dogs who can actually keep up with her. Which is obviously no fun. She shows off her circus dog trick of leaping into my arms every time we stop to talk to anyone or pet another dog, and I can just hear the smug mind-talk of every other dog owner out there “Really! I would never let my dog be the boss as that one obviously is.” (Usually they think that thought right before the dog uses canine mind-control to make them throw the ball for the 400-gazillionth time. At which point I think, “Really! I would never let my dog be the boss of me like that.”) And then I snuggle into Nellie’s neck with my nose and we continue on our self-congratulatory ways…
2. Cramping in a more determined way today. It’d be nice for the period to show up today, exactly on time. Because if it’s even a day late? I’m gonna be cranky.
3. Dreamt of caring for a child whom I had, well, inherited. An adorable little girl, maybe 3 or 4, and she was mine, but only recently. We were doing things – playing, eating, etc – and I was thrilled but still sort of sad that I was never going to know her as an infant. An odd dream, but a nice one.
4. Days off! I have the next 6 days off! Woohoo! Days OFF!!!
5. Which means cooking and writing and cleaning and doing all sorts of things that I don’t normally have the time for. Also relaxing. And knitting. And dog-walking.

Here’s to a great 6 days off! I am picturing your pup leaping up into your arms from the ground. LOL! Too funny! Daisy of the old Dagwood and Blondie movies (an old Sundy morning favorite ritual of DH and I) used to do that and we always got a laugh.
Have a great week off work!
WOW, six days off, very cool. Congrats on that. I hope you get your period soon so you can get on with things as soon as possible.
You can feel free to link to me if you’d like, I’m just going by K & all posts are password protected now at the old one so if she tried searching for me through those who read me now it would be too late. I’m not worried, but thank you for asking!
woo hoo! a vacation!!!
I have a dog who does the ground to arms leap, some schipperkes are known for those. In schip circles we call those “flying hugs” and only the most nimble are capable as it is a long jump up from the ground. Brownie(a terrible name for a black dog) can do it if I ask, so people think it is a party trick, but it is really just any excuse for a trip up into my arms.
I am sure it is the same for Nellie, any reason to be with mom is a good one, and a quick hug while she is at the dog park is just great.
