Days of Grace 11-8-09
1. Easy to get up this morning because of the horrific dreams. Not that I enjoyed the dreams, but it’s a rare thing for me to want to get up and start my day – even a day in which I have nothing but nice things planned. Looking for a lining here – I’ll take what I can get.
2. Finished the paper toy. And the TV-watchin’ scarf. And found the perfect pattern for one of the pairs of socks (which, unfortunately, will require needles & yarn I don’t have yet) and I’m thinking I just might get all my projects done in time.
3. Writing day today, with a bit of yarn & needle shopping thrown into midday to mix things up.
4. My husband’s taking me to eat soup dumplings in Chinatown on my birthday. I’m already looking forward to it.
5. There are still green leaves on the trees. New York is the weirdest place ever, season-wise (actually, it’s the weirdest place ever for a lot of reasons, the oddball seasons are merely one of the most notable, in mid-November.)

Happy early birthday!
I had a bad dream last night too. I went to the bathroom and every time I wiped, there was more blood. Fuck S – this better work for you.
oooh — birthday with soup dumplings? Yum. Are you going to Joe’s Shanghai on Pell St.? That’s our fave. If you are going there, there are a couple of other killer dishes you should try!
Happy almost birthday!

Nope – we’re going to Shanghai Cuisine on Bayard. I’ve had amazing seasonal dishes there – yellow eel in a sweet, crunchy sauce that I’m STILL looking for every time I check the menu – but their soup dumplings are why we go back.
Yum! Can’t wait til Tuesday!

OK — this is clearly a new place for us to try. Thanks for the tip and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
Wow! Green leaves! Most of our leaves are on our lawn and the ones that are out are festive, fall colors. The only greens are our evergreens and firs!
