Days of Grace 11-13-09
1. Really grateful that this is the first time I’ve actually had to pay for any drugs out of pocket. Holy Nuns’ Urine, Batman! This shit’s expensive! And grateful, too, that my insurance is actually covering my part of the drugs. Thanks, GHI!
2. Back to work today, but my attitude’s better than it’s been in months. Er, this has nothing to do with the fact that tomorrow is the last day we’re open to the public. Nothing to do with the fact that starting on Monday, I will be working in blue-jeans and a tee-shirt, packing books, instead of trying to be nice to people who are attempting to use me as a scapegoat for everything wrong with their lives.
3. The dog has a new hobby. Watching squirrels. She drags me to the little concrete & trees park down the road so she can walk slowly along the fenceline, scaring squirrels into running quickly! climbing trees! chittering excitedly! It’s All Very Interesting.
If you’re Nellie.
And I’m not. (Not interested, and not Nellie, either.) But I love seeing her so fascinated by something instinctual. Dogs are cool because they can be so like people, but sometimes it’s niftiest when you realize just how very different they are.
4. This one’s small unless you’re a knitter, and then you’ll understand. In the great 2009 Knitting Projects Extravaganza, I’m making socks for a few people. Using new yarns, new patterns. Which means that one never knows if a ball of sock yarn (supposed to be enough to knit 2 socks) will actually be enough. So I finished sock #1 and not only do I really love the way it turned out, but I weighed it & the remaining yarn on my fancy kitchen scale, and it looks like I have plenty for the second sock. A big relief.
5. My birthday cake was even tastier last night than the night before, than the night before. And my Lupron was easier than the night before. Both very good things.

Hell yea, that shit’s expensive!!!
Glad you’re getting started though! I’m excited for ya!
