1.  Traci’s comment from yesterday’s post.  For those of you who didn’t get the chance to read it:

So sorry you have the no-caff, low-sugar lupron sucks blues. Hey, that sounds like a good song. Everybody put your blind, guitar/harmonica playing, raspy voiced blues singer hat on!

Ba-wadda-ba-da, Ba-wadda-ba-da
Woke up this mo’nin’
Ba-wadda-ba-da
Head felt like a rock
Ba-wadda-ba-da
Can’t drink me no coffee
Ba-wadda-ba-da
Hankring for the bakery down the block
Oooooohhhh I’m singing bout those low down loopy lupron blues.

I’m still laughing, almost 24 hours after I read it.

2.  New favorite restaurant called Pho Tay Ho down in Gravesend.  There were 8 of us and every appetizer, every main dish was fantastic.  Best of all – not too surprisingly – was the pho.  Next time I’m going there with a smaller group & I’m just ordering one of those giant bowls of pho.  Hoping I get pregnant next month, and hoping that the only thing I can keep down is soup, and that therefore I can convince the boy that we have to go there every single night.

3.  Sleeping with my dog – when she’s not having a restless night – is pretty wonderful, once I got used to having dog feet jammed under my body.  She’s warm and soft and soothing to sleep with because she breathes so slowly.  Maybe it’s that her heart beats so slowly that mine tries to synchronize with it and just calms me down.  Don’t know, but I love it.

4.  Things have eased at work.  Now, the stress is that people don’t want us to move too quickly or else we’ll be sent to another branch earlier than necessary.  Ok, fine, but it’s really difficult not to work.  I mean, give me a wireless connection and I’m as happy as the next person to waste a day blog-reading when I should be cleaning my desk, but tell me that 70,000 books need to be packed into boxes and – well, I’m raring to get those 70,000 books packed.  So I’m getting yelled at.  For working too fast.

Maybe I’ll bring in my computer and try to catch up with you’all today.  I might just be able to get away with it.

5.  Coffee.  After stepping on the scale this morning – after 2 days of physical labor where I’m usually sitting on my ass – I was horrified.  Damn Lupron.  Damn it to the darkest regions of bitterest hell.  The coffee is necessary, folks.  Both to keep the headache at bay, but also to restart my digestive system & metabolism.

The part that makes me pissy is that I haven’t even been eating poorly.  Vietnamese food, folks!  We’re talking raw mint leaves and lettuce!  Grrrrr.   I deserve the coffee.
