Finally caught up on my reading today. Argggghhhhh for the damnedable cyst. We hates them precious, yes we do. What amazes me is that with all of the disappointment and delays and drug issues that you carry the joy of life in your heart with such grace. Good for you Miss Susan. Keep your chin up, keep fighting, we are all cheering you on and wanting this cycle to be the magic one.

Cosign the spinning bike suggestion. We have an upright nordic track bike that I hate. I splurged and bought myself a Schwinn IC Pro spinner. It was pricey, but I'll probably be giving it to my kids one day. It also takes up less space than the upright bike.

Well Advent is the season of waiting... (sorry my lame attempt at a joke).

I highly recommend RPM (cycling) classes. They are awesome to drop pounds and tighten up. I need to get back on them...

I can't believe your insane holiday - with running all over the hinterlands to get drugs! I have not a clue about buying a bike, I got my treadmill from Costco and I really like it - heavy duty and not too spendy, I believe it is Nordic Track. Don't know if they have bikes. But I totally agree about making time for classes - would be great but I just don't have time for it. Good luck - looking forward to hearing your research results on the bike!

I'm a big fan of the Spinning bikes. There are no motors or electronics to break, they are very sturdy, last FOREVER, and adaptable to your fitness level - you just set the resistance.

What about a trainer for your existing bike? I've been considering one for years... most all the benefits of a stationery bicycle, but less pricey and little more to store than the bike you already have. I've heard that you need to use smooth street tires with a trainer because nubby tires make noise and don't give you a smooth ride. Then again, I don't think you can program a trainer to self-adjust the tension mid-"ride," like you can with an actual stationery bike. That's why I haven't gotten one yet... still weighing the pros and cons.

Way to find the silver lining... Jewish RE and a Christmas transfer. That could potentially be the best xmas gift ever though... no? Good luck with the annoying cyst. I hope things get moving for you soon.
