Days of Grace 11-2-09

1.  It’s my ex-husband’s birthday today, and I’m feeling nostalgic, so I’ll say that I’m very grateful he was a part of my life for so many years.  I was able to do some things with him that I would not have done on my own – things that made me who I am.  And that’s a good thing.

2.  The Boy’s aunt sent us a rosemary plant all topiaried into a christmas tree shape.  She got my name wrong, but the plant’s so lovely I’m completely ignoring that fact.  Maybe the person on the other end of the phone mis-heard.  Yes, the plant is that cool.  And it makes the house smell divine.

3.  My new library assignment?  It’s awesome.  The people are nice.  The neighborhood is flooded with yummy eats.  I had pho for lunch yesterday, and anticipate having Thai food or Indonesian food or Malasian food or Chinese food for lunch today, and maybe going back for more pho and a salted-plum soda pop tomorrow and…

Diet?  What diet?  Hey, pho is chock full of mint and basil (and beef and noodles).  Surely it can’t be that bad for me.  And my hands smell of basil and mint and rosemary – three of my favorite scents of all time.  Mmmmm.   Pho tai.  Mmmmm.

4.  My commute is also quicker than I’d feared it might; it’s quicker, in fact, than my commute to the Realm of Pain.  Plus, because I’m taking oddball trains, I get a seat on every leg of the trip.  This is a very good thing.

5.  So is Cipro.  Symptoms are pretty much gone.  Continuing to take the heavy-duty drugs til they’re gone, as per instructions, and am even being all compulsive about timing them precisely since this stuff is so strong.  I heart Cipro.

  • i’m so so glad things are better.

please, please take pro-biotics. i cannot stress this enough.

  • Hearing you talk about food makes me miss NYC. We usually go in the winter for a visit (we try to get up every season at least once, but we always go in winter). We wont go this year b/c the twins are too little, but I cant wait to take them up and show them all the goodness the City has to offer!
