Days of Grace 12-4-09
1. I met a little girl – maybe 5 or 6, she still had her baby teeth, yesterday who’s quite the artist. No, really. She’s got more control over a pencil than most 12 year olds, and a pretty amazing sense of drawing-style. She also chatted my ear off, read me a book, allowed me to “help” her do her homework (it seems my charades skills are to be put to use here as well as at the Realm of Pain) and hugged me when she left as if we were old friends. I love working with little kids.
2. I rode my trainer last night for 30 minutes. Tonight it will be 35. I’m going to DO this thing. So there, IVF-pudge!
3. The thrill of pho within walking distance has not yet worn off. Had a ‘meh’ pork bun for lunch yesterday, and I think I’ll bring in a sweet potato for today, but the lure of pho is there, & I could eat it whenever I want.
4. One of the squirrels who thrives at this branch is a black squirrel. I love these mutated little guys. Every few years their population explodes & they’re rare again the next year. Last year there were many, this year, not so much. And I get a kick out of them whenever I see them. Perhaps I’ll bring stale bread & become one of those annoying feeders of squirrels.
5. Friday. No work tomorrow, and if I’m feeling peppy, I might even accompany the boy on a book-signing trip, just so I can see some of our friends who will also be at the event. Or not. Maybe I’ll have a lovely, calm weekend of making cookies (for work. I’m being good, I promise!) and frantically knitting while riding a stationary bike.
Hmmmm. I wonder if I could….

Totally random: we have those black squirrels EVERYWHERE. We actually had a squirrel problem (walls of LG’s bedroom…ewww), and the squirrel guy said that everyone who had squirrels is convinced he’ll trap the black ones, because they so overpopulate the community, but they’re not the problem ones. Sure enough, he trapped the little bitty cute red ones coming out of my house. Sigh.
Your lists make me happy.
