1.  A friendly little dachshund that jumped up to lick my face when I knelt to pet her.  I’ve never cared much for this breed, maybe because my grandmother had one who remained completely indifferent to me and to all my cousins throughout its long life.  But this little girl?  She made my morning, she was so sweet.  Nellie, of course, was oblivious to someone else getting her face-licking perqs, since she was completely obsessed by the squirrel chittering just out of reach past the fence.  Dog? What dog? But do you know, there’s a squirrel right there!

Dogs make me happy.

2.  Watched the movie Hot Fuzz last night, and chuckled all the way through it.  It’s by the guy who did Sean of the Dead, for any of you funny-zombie-movie types out there.  I wasn’t crazy about his other movie, but this one was great.  Worth seeing, though, as in SOTD, I must warn about some instances of completely over-the-top gore & violence.  Close your eyes & see it anyway.  Very funny, even when I wasn’t in a very funny mood to begin with.

3.  The tylenol I took (plus, probably, the baby aspirin in my new drug protocol) knocked out the headache I struggled with all day yesterday.  Which makes me happy.  I love it when drugs actually do what they’re supposed to…

4.  Speaking of, I suppose I should be grateful that my period arrived, which should keep everything on track & make for a plump, fresh lining in a couple of weeks  Hell, it even came a few days early, even, but I’m having a hard time mustering gratitude for three bouts of bleeding within 24 days.  Especially at the rate of this one, I feel like I might faint on the subway.  So I guess I’ll be grateful if/when I don’t faint on the subway.  Best I can muster right now, sorry…

5.  Glad to be moving forward.  Glad to be getting out of limbo.  Glad to wave goodbye to the waiting, though of course, I hope for much more waiting in the next few weeks/months.  Not pointless waiting, though, and I hope that’s the difference.  This has been a long road for someone as impatient as me, and I’m so glad to be able to finally see the beginning of the end of the donor-cycle road.

We have a mini dachshund female who is super sweet (we adopted her from a neighbor). I didn’t like the breed before I met her because of previous encounters with dogs that just bark at you. June is little, super active and will love on anyone who will give her the time and attention. Glad you got some happy dog-face-licking in.
