Days of Grace 2-11-10
1. Snow day. I grew up in Arizona. Not a lot of opportunities for snow days there. Wasn’t expecting yesterday’s day off – in fact, we were specifically told & emailed, & verified that our library never closes for snow never not ever, nevernevernever. But we did. Yesterday was great. Hot cocoa, snuggling with the dog, cooking, writing. I had a blast. Just lovely.
2. Fajitas for dinner last night. The first time I’ve ever made them, and they were a success. I love finding a keeper recipe that we both like.
3. Seriously blizzardy snow yesterday. It was so much fun watching the world transform. NYC looks a whole lot better under a foot and a half of snow…
4. Candles on my desk while I work. Something about a little flicker of candlelight focuses my mind like almost nothing else. Instant zen.
5. I get to start tapering off the prednisone next week, which might mean I start sleeping a little better. I am looking forward to this – to say the least.
