Days of Grace 2-18-10
1. Daffodils blooming at work underneath a hot air vent. Realize we still have a foot and a half of snow – except for directly under the hot air vent. It’s a nice little montage of spring, outside of the children’s room window. Especially when you notice the…
2. Rabbit! Yes. We have a New York City rabbit living in the daffodil corner. Huddling there, like a homeless guy shivering on a grate. People donated their salads yesterday to the wee little guy, and I suspect Bunny is going to be living large until a stray dog finds him, because, really, it was the biggest thrill I suspect some of these kids had ever had, to see a real, live WILD rabbit right outside the window. Nibbling on daffodils.
3. Back to the sane branch today. Which is good.
4. My missing shipment of fancy yarn is being resent – probably t o arrive today. And I finished manipulating the artwork I’m basing the pattern on. And As soon as I can knit up a swatch, I’ll set the stitch count and get the pattern done, so I can start this project I’ve been thinking of for too damned long now!
5. Middle SD actually spoke on the phone to me for ten minutes or so about her dog plans. She wants so desperately to be convinced that she was even willing to mine me for doggie enthusiasm (of which, as you might suspect, I have quite a bit.) Hope she gets the dog. She could totally use one. And then Nellie will have a buddy at family gatherings. And M. SD & I can talk dogs when we run out of polite conversation. Hurrah for whatever put the idea of getting a puppy into her head!
