Days of Grace 2-19-10
1. Ding-dong, the mouse is dead! The mouse who was so much smarter than us that we fully expected him to perfect space travel from underneath our kitchen cupboard. We rock, we’re the deadliest. Woohoo! Yes, there really was almost this much rejoicing when we saw the trap worked.
2. Cardinals. I know they make it onto this list way too often, but there’s something wonderful about bright red birds in the middle of a gray, snow-covered winter.
3. I love the way salt melts ice-slicked sidewalks. I like the way it crunches underfoot, and I love the way my crappy non-snow shoes grip the sidewalk as soon as I hit a salted patch, instead of sliding just that teeny bit on the slippery stuff.
4. I am six plates closer to being a perfect hostess. Domestic bliss, indeed.
5. Weekend off. Lots planned, but all of it fun. Weekend off.
