Days of Grace 2-20-10
1. Hot chocolate Saturdays. I’ve allowed myself to drink hot chocolate on the weekends, and I’m loving it. Such a nice treat!
2. Looking forward to today, even though it’s going to be busy. Brunch with a writer-friend of the Boy’s, and then preparation for the in-law dinner. Since the Boy is the Roast Beast Chef, all I have to do is worry about the dessert. And the place settings. Yes, I will be polishing silver.
3. I went to sleep at 9:30 last night. Bliss.
4. Blood oranges. They’re so beautiful, and I like their tanginess more than the simpering sweetness of regular oranges. But mostly because they’re so nice to look at.
5. My long-awaited yarn finally arrived (again!) and this time it made it into the house instead of into some (I’m sure) VERY disappointed mail-thief’s stash bag. But this means I get to start my baby-blanket project. I’m currently working on a swatch so that I can chart it out accurately, and I’m hoping to have it ready to begin this next week. So exciting to have a big project ahead of me!

I’m in awe of your ability to create your own knitting pattern. I’m still just knitting rectangles (scarves & blankets) and can’t envision doing more. You’re amazing!
I have two blood oranges in my fridge at the moment!
Have you read the John Hawkes book The Blood Oranges? It was on my phd comps list, eons ago.
