Well, hmmph.

So GrandfatherEndocrinologist is unhappy.  Which makes me unhappy.  My thyroid numbers are still inappropriately low & high, signaling a definite case of hyperthyroidism.  However, I’m presenting absolutely no physical symptoms of hyper-t at all.  So he feels like he should medicate me, but he really doesn’t want to medicate me if I’m just weird.  Well we knew that.  Weird is sort of what my body does.

Even my abnormalities cannot present in a normal way.

So more bloodwork, and a full metabolic workup this time, to see if he can figure out what’s going on in my poor body.

If I knew that none of this would affect Thor, I wouldn’t care, but it has me nervous, I have to say.

Grrrr.

Stupid thyroid.

Shit- I hope they have some answers soon, good answers, the sort that involve the words “don’t worry, all is well and will be until your due date”

ps – i’m in philly for a psych training this week but will be back this weekend – would LOVE to schedule a dinner for four (five if you count Thor!) at the Grocery soon!

  • Ugh. Sorry you’re having to deal with this when you should just finally be allowed to relax and enjoy Thor growing in there.

  • Given that you are pregnant, it is definitely worth a closer look. Can’t not treat it if it is hyper. Hope you get conclusive answers with the full panel.

  • Hope more tests bring answers on whether to treat or not. In my own auto immune disease the Drs and I definitely treat me and not my test results as we have discovered over the years that results which would be way abnormal for others are just ” normal for me” and don’t need the big gun drugs. Sorry you have this uncertainty.
