Only 137 Days Left to Go

So the heartburn thing isn’t getting any better, but I’m getting better at managing it.  Turns out that I am NOT the exception to the no-tomatoes, no-onions rule of keeping heartburn livable, much as I’d like to be.  My delicious gazpacho was delicious, for about three slurps.  Ditto for the quinoa salad (with raw onion) that I tend to live on during the summer.

Yeah, well, looks like there are an awful lot of cheese sandwiches (without even the condiment-consolation of salsa) in my future.  *sigh*

Still, sitting up for the first few hours of sleeping is doing the trick, even if it doesn’t make for a blissful night’s sleep.  Better than the alternative.

And everything else is going along just fine.  Baby bump is motivating strangers to offer me seats on the train (more on that – an entire post on that – at a later date) and keeping me contented with its very visible progress.  I like this belly thing.  Beats the giant boobs every which way – likely because it’s not giant yet.  Motivated by the horrific stretch-marks-on-my-breasts thing, I’ve started religiously moisturizing with a Burts Bees Shea butter & hoping for the best.

Otherwise?  It’s dull here in “Only 137 days left to go”-land.

Just the way I like it.

Yay for dull! I think it’s so exciting, you are showing and feeling movement. Had the Boy been able to feel Thor doing his tricks yet?

Can’t wait to hear about the anatomy scan!

  • I had to quit eating at 6 pm and not go to bed until 10 pm in order to sleep at all – my heartburn and reflux was so bad…

Yay for 137 days! And awesome that people are being nice to the pregnant lady! I didnt much of that until now but I look whale like so I think I frighten people.

About the acid reflux, have you tried tums? i never did but some people swear by them- what worked for me was a cold glass of milk at night. . . but I dont know if that’s a tried and true remedy.

You’re 20 weeks! Wow!!! I’m still so very excited for you!

I’m with you on the tomatoes and the sitting up to fall asleep not being very restful.

I have the reflux so bad that three Zantac wasn’t cutting it, so about a week ago I was allowed to switch to Nexium, and that is FINALLY doing the trick.
