Days of Grace 7-3-10
1. The back pain is manageable. I can walk short distances without limping. Who knew that crossing my legs was the key? Better believe I’ll be sitting like that for the rest of this pregnancy & beyond. Last night I was lying in bed with my legs stretched out straight while I read. Stood up to walk to the bathroom & nearly fell over. Sat back down, stretched one leg, then the other over the opposite knee and then I was fine. Seriously – I wonder how much of this problem I’ve had has actually been indirectly related to the heartburn. Lying propped on my back with all my weight on that area, it seems like that might have been the factor that started this whole mess off. Whatever. What I’m doing now is managing it, which is so much better than I’d feared it might be.
2. My dog – my lazy, bladder-of-iron, dog, who – literally – sleeps all day, got up with me this morning because I took her for a walk early yesterday and she wants a walk this morning, too. Specifically, she wants ME to take her for a walk, because I know the Boy will take her when he wakes up. Which is good, because I’m going to a far-off branch to work today, and so am NOT taking the dog for a walk. But it’s nice to know she cares.
3. Glass o’ milk is still my favorite treat. Since chocolate in any form seems to set off the amazing 2-way esophagus experience, I get to drink milk when I want to have that “Mmmmmmmm!” happiness. Thor’s little bones are gonna be strong like steel!
4. Don’t have to work with the Princess today. Yesterday was dire – dire enough I’m not even going to post about it, though the drama didn’t involve me (I want to make sure it never involves me!) But. Today? No princess. Which is good.
5. Today’s cool, though I understand all of next week is going to be hot & humid again. I’ll try to enjoy today without getting too worked up about tomorrow’s horribleness.
