Small Things 2-16-12
1. There is something terrifically comforting to me, that I have the power to comfort my son. Not through any special knowledge or gift, just by my simple presence–that is, I believe, the grace I’ve been searching for my whole life: the certain knowledge that for this moment in time, at least, I am enough.
2. A good day with no tears and very little whingeing and fussing. Methinks the lurgi has just about run its course!
3. You know, the WordPress app for iPhone is really quite functional. I’m lying in bed and pecking this out with one finger but it works. It really works. How cool is that?
4. A brief chat with a neighbor while the boychick ran around in the unseasonably warm sunshine. It’s raining now, at 11pm. In February. In New England. My neighbor says the bluebirds come to her when she calls because she bribes them with mealworms and builds them houses. Robins will be here soon and I don’t think I’ve seen a single chickadee…
5. I love having a wealth of books-to-be-read piled on my bedside table. Such possibility, such potential!
