Small Things 2-29-12
1. I love the concept of leap year. I wish today was my birthday or an anniversary of something–anything–but it’s not. Shall just have to celebrate calendar-calibration day anyway…
2. We’re due for a small snowstorm tonight. ‘Bout time.
3. Henry slept all night long. It’s been a rough week for sleep. This was a very good and much-needed break for me!
4. He has, however, turned into a huge cuddle-bug. When we’re watching ‘his show’, he wants to either be in my lap, or with my arm in his lap. Also, after he gets down from his high chair after dinner? It’s not because he’s done eating, or even because he needs to run around–it’s because he wants to sit in my lap, and have me feed him there. I know my job is to foster his independence, and I try to encourage him to play and explore on his own, but when he’s feeling cuddly like that? I don’t imagine I will ever push him away.
5. I received my contributor’s copy of The Modern Fae’s Guide to Surviving Humanity today, and I’m pretty darned excited by that. It’s cooler, even, than cashing the check was, and that was pretty fabulously cool. I’m thinking my first book signing (March 10th at Albany’s Flights of Fantasy bookstore if you can make it!) will be even cooler yet. Not that I expect people to line up for this, but the editors have had signing parties at this wonderful store before, and if nothing else, it’s a lot of friends getting together, eating pizza and chocolate, and generally having a good time. I’m looking forward to it.

Contributors copies rock! Congrats!
